RGN connects parties during implementation of wayfinding in hospital

The Belgium hospital az groeninge is the result of a merger between four hospitals in and around Kortrijk. It is one of the largest hospitals in Belgium, with a surface area up to 120,000 m2 and the capacity for 1,050 nursing beds. A hospital, or any building for that matter, of this size, requires good wayfinding to function optimally. To ensure a smooth implementation of the wayfinding az groeninge commissioned a partnership between various parties. The brand identity of the signage was designed by the Australian party ID lab and the production of the actual signposts was conducted by Neopaul. RGN was the connecting partner that provided consultation and was responsible for the management of the project and the supervision of the production and implementation.

RGN has used a pragmatic approach for managing this project while monitoring compliance with the legal Belgium requirements for wayfinding in hospitals. Moreover, the interests and wishes of the hospital management have been leading in this project. One of the wishes was to blend the wayfinding into the architecture of the building as much as possible, but so that patients, visitors and staff members can orient themselves effortlessly. Due to RGN’s methods and tight management of all parties involved, all target groups can now find their way almost intuitively.
