Smooth implementation of the brand identity of municipality Midden-Groningen due to experience RGN

Almost eight years ago, RGN brand identity services successfully implemented the brand identity of the municipality of Slochteren. This year the municipality merged with Hoogezand-Sappemeer and Menterwolde into the new municipality of Midden-Groningen. Last year, the new municipality launched a tender for the development and implementation of the new brand identity. In cooperation with advertising agency Dizain from Groningen, RGN formed a combination that convincingly won the tender. Karin Elverding, senior communication advisor for the municipality of Groningen: “The combination of the Groningen matter-of-fact approach of the design agency and the extensive experience of RGN in the municipal area ensured that we started the process with great confidence. In practice, it turned out it really was a perfect combination.”
The outline of the project and the most important decisions were made by the steering committee of the municipality based on the results of impact analysis conducted by RGN. Parallel to this preliminary research, Dizain started with the design which resulted in a very recognisable brand identity. RGN ensured a smooth progress of the project by establishing a well-functioning organisation. Here, the best suppliers were linked to the project, the prototypes were made and tested, and the planning and budget were optimised. The i's were dotted during the always hectic time of the year around Christmas and New Year, and on the first of January, the new municipality was a fact. The new brand identity is the connection between the three old municipalities. Thanks to RGN the new municipality is now recognisable as such and enables all residents to identify with the municipality of Midden-Groningen.
